About this property

Welcome to The Royal oak hotel

The Royal Oak Hotel is a 3-star establishment located at 11 Market Street in High Peak, offering convenient access to local shops and amenities. Situated in a town with easy connections for sightseeing and recreation, it serves as a practical base for visitors exploring the area. The property is pet-friendly and provides free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking, catering to those seeking essential comforts without extensive facilities like a fitness center or pool.

The hotel blends traditional charm with recent refurbishment, as reflected in guest comments highlighting a clean, comfortable environment with a welcoming bar, restaurant, and outdoor beer garden. The dining experience receives consistent praise for fresh, well-prepared meals served in a friendly atmosphere, making it suitable for visitors valuing good food and relaxed social spaces. Very good experience all round We met up withfriends for lunch here and stayed overnight. The pub is traditional and recently refurbished. Comfortable bar/lounge area, spacious outdoor beer garden with heaters, lovely restaurant and good value food. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Our ensuite room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, tea and coffee making facilities, and the bed was very comfortable. Continental breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice and tea/coffee served to our table. Would recommend to anyon

Food was very good, both evening meal and breakfast. Young lad who made breakfast for us did a fine job. Rooms are a bit 'worn'...but for us three bikers, it was just right after a soaking ride over the Pennines! We would stsy again.

Hotel and rooms were fine. It’s a bit noisy at night so if you’re a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. This isn’t really the hotel’s fault the local drivers and boy racers are obnoxious.

The pub was lovely and the meal we had in there, was fabulous. Staff were warm and friendly. The Rooms were basic, yet very comfortable and very good for the price. Location was great and the town was lovely. Has a Morrisons and little shops within walking distance and a small cocktail bar across the road called the The Old Cell, which was small and intimate and the owner even offered to take my parents back to the local camping site, when it was late. All in all we loved our stay here and would highly recommend it, despite some of the other negative reviews. The only thing we could criticise, was our room no 4, didn't have any hot water, but we informed the owner, who thanked us and said he would take a look to rectify it.

Friendly staff, and delicious food at good prices. The food was all fresh, excellent quality and tasty. It was so good, it was REAL food. Other places serve frozen, processed food, but I can't explain how good it was here! Big portion sizes, and cooked to perfection. Many thanks! We'll certainly visit again!
